Sense of responsibility

We are getting serious now.  It's been barely a month since diving head first into this passion for digging into cyber environments, ethical hacking, coding, and various gadgets.  In the short time span I've come across a lot of technology which is left up to the user to determine and define it's good versus evil intent.  While most people chasing any level of clout are sure to post or explain some type of personal disclaimer about sharing the knowledge in an attempt to transfer responsibility out of their hands to the viewer, I feel like as someone learning it's my personal responsibility to be informed of what the law actually is.  I think this is a step in my learning journey that makes a difference in becoming a responsible ethical hacker rather than just someone fumbling around.

I live in Idaho.  Here is the law where I live.  I encourage you to also know the law where you live if you are exploring any of these concepts yourself.  This law was established in 1984.

Title 18 - Crimes and Punishments

Chapter 22 - Computer Crime

18-2022 Computer Crime

            (1) Any person who knowingly accesses, attempts to access or uses, or attempts to use any computer, computer system, computer network, or any part thereof for the purpose of: devising or executing any scheme or artifice to defraud; obtaining money, property, or services by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises; or committing theft; commits computer crime.

(2)  Any person who knowingly and without authorization alters, damages, or destroys any computer, computer system, or computer network described in section 18-2201, Idaho Code, or any computer software, program, documentation, or data contained in such computer, computer system, or computer network commits computer crime.

(3)  Any person who knowingly and without authorization uses, accesses, or attempts to access any computer, computer system, or computer network described in section 18-2201, Idaho Code, or any computer software, program, documentation or data contained in such computer, computer system, or computer network, commits computer crime.

(4)  A violation of the provisions of subsections (1) or (2) of this section shall be a felony. A violation of the provisions of subsection (3) of this section shall be a misdemeanor.

PWNAGOTCHI - SUCCESS!

Disclaimer: This is purely for educational purposes of learning.  Do not use this to be harmful or break the law.  Be responsible!

After making sure to get a data cable, run admin from cmdline, rndis drivers...yea, I got it to work.  Pretty fun setting it up was a networking lesson for me as well.  Ssh into the device as it reads as new ethernet connection.  This is how you remote into the little guy and setup.
Also got the pi sugar 1200mah battery charged up and connected.  Pretty straight forward with the pogo pins just aligning to backside of gpio of the zero wh.
Pretty stoked on my little thing.  Doing these small gadget projects is fun as the juggle between software interfacing hardware is just that, a mix.  This is also based on an AI machine language so technically I just built my first artificial intelligence robot!?  Wtf so cool!!!
Got a .stl file for a case.  Working with Precision Additive, we made some revisions to the file to make this actually fit well.

PWNAGOTCHI - TRY 1 FAIL

First crack at putting my first Pwnagotchi together didn't end in success.  All process is always learning no matter how unsuccessful it goes.

The goal here was to build my first Pwnagothci with the following hardware:
Waveshare V4
Raspberry Pi Zero WH
Pi Suger 1200mAh

Of course there are some more tools, primarily software required additionally to make this work.
I will try another crack at putting mine together.  After the first try a few things happened in the process that I am taking away as the "issue".  One, the USB>>>MICRO USB cable is questionable on whether or not it transmits data.  The Rasp Zero board does illuminate green, and I even got the WaveShare V4 to read out my Ai, so I did see it work for a little bit.  However even after installing and running down a bug through the CMD I was not able to get the Pwnagotchi to mount as a new USB comp/lpi hardware.  This suggests the cable was not actually working.
It was cool to see Tiger Cock come to life, but unfortunately this led to me having to pull the plug and have possibly destroyed the micro SD used to flash the Ai and possibly the Tigercock hardware itself.  Also, after running the CMD lines I realized I'm not running the Admin user on my windows 10 machine...topic for another time, but that could also be why it was not mounting.
Regardless, this was a somewhat frustrating learning experience that I'll revisit.  Ordered more payload bread and proper cabling.  We'll try again.

Exploration - Ethical Hacking

I'll post more about this in the coming months.  For right now I just wanted to somewhat document the process as I begin to learn and grow with it.  My hope is that there is noticeable growth, learning, positive experience, fun, and scratching itches from my early teen years that society would never have supported or understood to the level of which they do today.

Venturing back into the world of "hacking".
As mentioned, I'll make future posts explaining the Why & What of this later.

Above is my first raspberry pi 4 B 8gb RAM running Raspbian OS.  Wanting to learn linux and my way around the shell.  This case from Vilros seemed pretty cool with the RGB cooling fan and mount option to run a SATA SSD.  Found a site Hack The Box that gives you a virtual linux terminal to learn with.

Attracted to a few aspects of this, of course the hardware toys can not be ignored.  Things have gotten soon much cooler since 1993.  My first flipper zero with ESP32 dev board.
